The XTerra has landed!
« on: March 10, 2010, 22:38 »
Oh yeah baby... my new Xterra 705 arrived today complete with the 'normal' coil, an oval shaped coil (sorry dunno specs), huge Minelab MD bag, tool pouch and a Kellyco Finds pouch! It's assembled and ready to go. I'm itchin to go out - will test it this weekend. Blaaaahdy work gets in the way of a good day's detecting :)

Went to our local Metal Detecting Club the other night for the first time. Lots of knowledge there. It will be worth the $30 joining fee to be able to join the club's outings to the goldfields. They know where it is and how to get the relevant permission. I hear though that places to hunt for gold out west are getting fewer and fewer. By the way, are there any other Townsvilleans on this list?

Will let you know how I go with the XTerra...

Ciao
Snoopy
PS: Maybe now that I won't use my Gold Snoop Pro much, I should change my name to Terror (X-terra...geddit?... terror... terra...  ;D )

    No stopping you now.
It may take a little while to learn the though.
The elliptical is probably the High Frequency 18.75Khz DD 5x10" coil....good for gold and beaches and mineralised ground.
    Good luck to you mate.

Yeah that's it - 18.75Khz DD coil. is that really that much better on the beach? Sounds like a hassle having to swap coils  ::) or maybe I'm just lazy...
