Xterra 70 / 705 Target Id Chart
« on: April 12, 2010, 15:18 »
Gday,

There seems to be a few new people with Xterra's around.
This may help with some of the numbers on your screen .
I am not 100% sure if its all the same across the Xterra range or what.
This works on my Xt70 and as far as I know is accurate for the 705....
$2    30
$1    32
50c   24     (round 50c - 44)
20c   20-22
10c   12
5c     8
2c     40
1c     34

Sovereign     26
Half Sov.      18
Florin           38 -40 (post1945)   44 (pre 1945)
Shilling        32-34
6d               28 (post1945)  34-38 (pre1945)
3d               22- 24 (post1945) 34-36 (pre 1945)
Penny           * see list below
Half Penny    32-34 and 38

Gold            10-12 (9ct),  24-26 (18ct), 28 (22ct)
Silver           high no's 30's to 40's

Pull Tabs     12 -24 depending on the type
Foil             low no's ...4-6-8
Screw Cap     mostly 28-32-34 but can go as high as 40

PENNYS
pre 1936...36
1943....40
1947...42
1953...44
1956...36
1958...38
1960...40
1879...32

# this list is not perfect, time in the ground can break down a coin and change the id no. usually not by more than 2 (one notch) though .

Good luck

Croweater

ps. Please add to this list or give feedback if your experiences are different.

hey thanks Croweater that's interesting and exactly what I'm getting with my 705 dug up allot of 1c and 2c thinking they might be something better, haven't been lucky enough to find a sovereign yet but I'll look forward to a 26 and I did see a Des Dunn clip where he was testing a half sovereign and that came to 18.
thanks again for taking the time to post that.

    Phil,

    thanks for that info mate.
    Its added to the list.
I guess we all keep hoping for that sovereign, a lot of rings found are worth much $ but ah, the romance and history of a real old gold sovereign.

    Hi NSC,
That's pretty much how mine reads. I seem to get 1c on 38 -40. They give off a good solid signal and the 1c is sometimes hard to locate the sound to me indicates a much bigger target. After I have dug a hole about 120mm deep I end up finding the coin on the edge of the hole and fairly shallow. I'm hoping the pinpointer will help. I'm expecting it any day now.

Re the ID numbers for the pennies, I haven't dug enough as yet but around 38-40-42 I'm thinking copper coin.
Hope your not holding out on us Croweater, I noticed you didn't give us the target ID for a 1930 Penny.  ;)

    I like this info NSC...

Here are some of my personal observations (I have the 705):

    $2 = 28-30 (even 32 sometimes)
    $1 = 32-34
    10c = 12-14
    2c = 40-42
    1c = 36-38

    Cheers

I added our Logo to the top right hand corner of mine but was not sure if I could or should post it
with our logo in corner ??? copyright  ???
So only I have the flashy looking card ;)

Hi,      its been a while for this thread
Some people have stated some differences
BUT...How can your numbers be different to other peoples ? ...
(these are just the ones that I know of there are probably more)
    - Changing coils can alter the TID no's ...especially if you put a DD coil on
    - Soil mineralisation
    - Salt
    - Breakdown of the coin eg green verdigras and jacket breakdown
    - Another coin or metal object close by
    - Poor GB may have an impact ?

As a rule the TID's dont usually move more than one notch (value of 2) but can move 2 in a few cases
    Happy Xterra-ing  :D

    hi ohb1

    1921 3 d = 34
    1942 Florin = 46
small rings vary form 34 to 40

all with 5x10' DD HF coil on
standard concentric coil may read -2 on the above.

He might mean the factory preset pattern 1.

    http://www.nqminersden.com/docs/xterra%20conductivity%20chart.pdf
With this TID chart you have the numbers 34-48 set above the numbers 12-32.
The lines below which indicate where gold can be found, are they indicating gold can be found from 6-32 for nuggets and 12-32 for rings or does it mean 6-48 for nuggets and 12-48 for rings?
