Lithium Ion packs for the ETrac
« on: October 31, 2012, 21:11 »
Well today I received two lithium ion packs for the ETrac from RNB Innovations (see Business Reviews section).

The photos attached are the new packs (in red) compared to the original NiMH packs (in yellow).

The new packs appear well designed and constructed and are much lighter than the old packs. They also charged much faster than the old packs which would take about 12 hours to charge. But note, a US to AUS wall adaptor is required to plug in the charger (not supplied).

The ability to charge fast and also from a car cigarette lighter will no doubt help greatly when travelling with the ETrac.

Anyhow I've put the first charged pack into the ETrac and its showing four bars - so far so good. I'll provide some feedback on the performance soon.

Looks fantastic, Sorry for asking but how many $ for 2 packs?

I use the original 1600ma battery and the 8 cell case as the backup but at times wouldn't mind another spare when I am out bush for long times.  If I get 2 maybe another member would like the second unit.

Well, its been several trips now and the battery is still running at 4 bars - just superb  8). The ETrac hasn't skipped a beat with the new battery and I've got piece of mind that the ETrac is still punching as deep as it was when the battery went in. I'm more than happy with these packs so far  :)

Hello Coin Ranger,

I felt pretty confident that you would be impressed by the performance of our ML-2900 Batt Pack for the Minelab Machines..

I need a Dealer Down Under, But what we can do if anyone is interested is to organize a group buy for the Forum...

Please Contact me "Joe" if Interested.

Hi Joe,

PM sent re Brisbane Gold - they might be interested in becoming a distributor. Others might have suggestions from other states. The bulk purchase deal also sounds good.

I'm still working my way through the first charge - 6 hunts down and still 4 bars - luvin' it! ;D

Hi Joe,

Absolutely no complaints from me re the battery packs. I had no idea batteries could last that long. Any plans to design one for the CTX 3030?

If anyone wants to make me an offer on the old NiMH packs (for an ETrac), send me a PM.
