G,Day all,found this spoon today with hallmarks.It looks silver plated but when i scrape it it looks like silver underneath.I have tried to straighten it but it is hard to.

Silver plate usually says EPNS - electro plated nickel silver. So the abscence of those letters- plus the hall marks- might mean you've got the genuine article. I wish I knew more about this stuff I watch the antiques roadshow but thats about it.

sorry downunder it's silver plate
on UK silver there is a lion, a date letter, a makers mark & usually a assay office mark/ town mark.

Hi downunder,is it defiantly a spoon the bottom looks very flat? or is the bit you put in your mouth missing.On the first pic does it have other markings, can we see a close up?
