lead stamp

This was found at the old Dunnolly pub site recently.I know its an old stamp,made of lead.Seems to read something about math ?The letter format looks old,any educated guesses at age.?

    Hi Rwork,
     Looks like a stamp of some sort. If it is a stamp the letters are reversed. If you have a rubber stamp have a look at it  using a mirror to read the print. I enlarged the photo and then looked at it through a mirror.

    To me it seems to read:  W E H T A M J

    I tried the simple way by putting some ink on a pad but couldn't get it to print.  Rwork

    You could try pressing into putty or play doh!  Are you sure it's a stamp and not a name plate?
    It's kind of hard to tell from photo. :-\

    I found one similar at Cowell a while ago I cant remember the name (I put it in a safe place n cant find it at the moment) but Basicly it was someones title.

    It looks to have missing letter (s) at he end.  Mathieson, Mathison??  Used to emboss/press foil maybe?

    Hi Guys, Before I started plumbing I did some printing.  This is certainly a stamp. These were produced then clamped into a frame and then loaded into a 'lino type' press which is what would put the print onto the paper before presses were made that used plates.
    Shame that you can't read what it says.
