1930s penny?

OK, I know the 1930s penny has doesn't have a kangaroo on the front but whats the go with this penny. Which ever way I look at it, it reads 1930  ??? ... what gives ...

    Weird.... the '3' is slanting left and the '0' is slanting right. Maybe someone played with it once upon a time?

    I reckon its a 1939 Penny. The nine and zero would look similar under that amount of corrosion.

    If it had the commonwealth ring and those numbers were down the bottom I would definitely place it in my collection under 1930 though.

    I think this might be a 1950 or 1960 depending who is on the obverse. Under magnification it appears to be a 0 at the end but really its anyones guess as to what that other number might be. I too  have dreamed of that 1930 elusive target.

    The 38 penny had the kangaroo while the 38 half penny still had the commonwealth ring around it .As mentioned you need to know who's head is on the back. My guess was 38.  Rwork
