Some kind of burner?
« on: August 29, 2010, 21:04 »

    Hi all,
I found this thing last year, both parts were found seperately a few months apart at
the same site with a distance of about 20 metres between them. I'm not sure if they go together
but the piece with the hole fits perfectly over the part with the flint wheel thingy (though its a
little bent).  Could this be some kind of portable camp stove or burner, it measures
  45mm  x  55mm x 10mm deep, each part.

The part with the hole has the words       "UPSON    PIG.HOL.O"  stamped on it, tried google
but got no hits on it.

FYI  May be related,   I also found an old rifle magazine still full of live 1943 Mk V11   303 rounds
very close to the bit with the flint wheel, about 2 feet away which makes me think it may all be part
of an old army kit or the like, anyone seen one of these before & can confirm my suspicion of what
  it is.

      Cheers   and  HH          RR
