Goldies,

With 2 to 3 inches of rain in the Golden Triangle over the last 36 hrs, I wonder what will wash up in the next couple of months.

Good luck to all!!!!!!!!!

Like the song " i've been everwhere" so have we today trying to get home from Maryboruogh to swan hill. By using some local knowledge and driving around a couple of closed signs we eventually arrived back on the road near serpantine. Plenty of water. We drove past flooded houses on the way to Castlemaine on Sat for the PMAV  30 years celibration  and had to go through deep flood water but the next day when the water was very low they had road closed signs up.Most people ignored them. I have pictured Jones creek near Waanyarra which is usually dry even in winter. This was friday before the floods really started.I found my first piece of gold here. We seen full size swings with only the tops showing at carisbrook, probably more sediment than chip bark now around them. Rwork

Wow Rwork, I remember that area from years ago, we used to camp in "dead mans gully" as you say mostly always dry...

You could almost shoot the rapids eh !!!
That amount of water should cut a good deal of material, a good place to ferret about with a small coil... Later, when it dries!

While we were there we could see ground with grass on it which had fallen down into the creek so there should be a bit of new bank showing here and there.Need to take gumboots later, waders now.  Rwork
