Ok i want to find a gold nugget - where to start?
« on: October 26, 2010, 15:59 »
There are these groups in England running Metal Detecting tours for old coins and relics.

Are there any similar operators in Australia for gold nugget hunting? I want to just go somewhere were gold may be found and for someone to say "Ok start swinging that way". I imagine there's still a fair bit of gold to be found in Central Queensland. But I don't know where to start, how to find landowners' details, how to ask them for permission to hunt for gold on their property bla bla bla bla blah.

Any Central Queenslanders on this forum willing to 'invite' me for a hunt in their goldfields?  ::)  ::)  ::)  I'll bring the beer  ;D

Cheers
Snoopy

Thanks for the advice folks. David - awesome maps mate. I've downloaded the kml(?) file - I'll look into it more this weekend. I'll contact Qld Sandy soon to get some advice from him.

And Jeff - if I ever make the trek to Emerald, I'll be sure to let you know  ;)
