Update: sent a unhappy email to windy city detectors and got a reply almost straight back. They say they never received it, not looking for blame just happy with the quick response. Have requested they make an offer on the quote anyway and will keep you updated.

    Hey Xavier,

    I've used Windy City Detectors before. This is what I've found;

    - Prices were good (marginally cheaper than Kellyco on some items)
    - Range of products not quite as good as Kellyco. Minelab items need to be ordered in
    - Delivery times were excellent
    - One delivery had an item missing but was promptly rectified at Windy Cities cost - no dispute
    - No complaints on the quality of the items purchased but some freebie items weren't quite up to scratch (pinpointer & headphones) ... but thats the same with Kellyco.

Would I purchase from them again? Yes if they had the cheapest price.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers,
    CR

    DMOBX
has 3 packages for F2 Buyers
I like the 8 inch coil the most
I like the 4 inch coil and would recommend if you are thinking "Trashy areas"
i do use the 10 but more so in winter.
I have never used the 11 DD
the Fisher pinpointer has quite limited range but at least is thrown in for almost free
DMOBX has the cheapest postage going

Hi, Alimo, I am in the final stages of ordering an F2 as well, I am leaning towards DMBOX as well , but I see your comment about a screwed connector.. I presume that is to the coil cable... is this an optional extra?  What is the default connection? Bayonet?

    cheers

the old ones were push in
    from coil-to-control box
    now they are screw type
it just ensures you get a fresh and BRAND new detector and not old stock
OH and I like a lower shaft one every coil
so I have all three coils and three lower shafts
makes swapping them easy, and if it's easy you are more likely to do it
the pinpointer is a bit rubbish but it is essentially free anyway

Yes i hear you on the screw in type, but if i get the other i can use it on my BH and i already have a 4" coil. So my partner, son or who ever i take with me can come swinging with me and they can use the F2 and i can use the BH, i don't think the BH is a great unit for a beginner, imo.

I am leaning towards Kelly Co mob simply for the extras which have some items i would like. Going to go for the screwing one anyway and get the $200 with the option 1 package and there monthly special which will get me a 11"DD for $75 and a pointer for $25. So $300 + Delivery. More then I have budgeted for and may have to for tax check only been 4 weeks so far  ::)

There is a big difference between cost and value. Think Royal Show/Easter show bags
if you went plug in type you would have a 4 inch coil already
do you have a 10 inch BH coil?

Yeah just saw the fine print on that :(
Have the 8" and the 4" on the BH
Have a preference for searching large areas targeting goldies also have access to lots of beaches  :D
Hence the want of a large coil.

Hi guys, I've just got a Fisher F2 from Kellyco, and i'm happy with it. It took a while to arrive, but I've got a feeling that it may have had something to do with the fact that I ordered it about a week before Christmas :P ;D lol
I got the three coil package,(4",8" and 10") and the 10" round is not a bad coil for scanning larger areas, but if I were you Xavier, I'd probably get the 11" DD.
The NZ soil (i'm in nz) is pretty quiet, so really there's no need for the ground balance. I can turn the sensitivity right up and it doesn't chatter.
    Cheers

Bit the bullet and ordered away.
Did have big problems using credit card on Kellyco website and ended up using paypal. Just have to wait for them to take the hold of all my money after the order process kept telling me it had failed yet it hadnt. Almost had the same order been sent 3 times :( I think main problem was on exp date with no info on weather you needed a "/" or not
Paypal worked, just going to take a little longer as the money has to go from bank to them then Kellco.

    F2 - 2 Coil Package
Fisher 11" DD Search Coil w/ Screw in Style
Automax V4 Pinpointer with purchase of Metal Detector ($25)
    KRYLAR SS SAND SCOOP
Hoping for around 15dayish, also having it sent to my fathers, last time my pointer was left on my door step and at least there is a better chance my father will be home as i will be working.
    Will let you know.
No real feed back from Kellyco as to the problem with trying to order using the credit card and had the funds in my account frozen since friday, hoping fixed by tomorrow but thinking Tuesday as it will be Sunday there.

Gave up in the end and have cancelled the order, as my funds are still frozen the best I could do was have my father call over Voip on sunday and get some lady tell him 1. I need to send an extra $94 for shipping, seems there order system cant tell where its going and calculate the right amount. 2. I wont be at my current address in 2 weeks so want to change it to another and they said they cant even though total amount is not paid (shipping) and the order has not been sent yet.
Already have a dispute form already (filled last friday) to be started with my bank.
Advice from all this of the 3 USA dealers i have dealt with Windycity and Texpspremium are a big thumbs up and Kellyco wouldn't bother.
Having over a $1000 sitting in my account frozen by there stupid credit card system which told me it didn't work then to get the treatment i have since is just not right.
I am a single father with his son starting school and this was the last thing i needed.
So i will wait till I have my money back, god knows when and try Windycity as Texas doesn't do Fisher.

Yes, and pinpointer... I dont know what to make of it.. looks like a toy... we will see..

I thought it was good value.... BUT, I was advised before purchase that it would be a push in connector... I asked in response to previous posts here...

but I still think if i look after the connection it will be ok..
