ceylon 1908 1c
« on: August 29, 2011, 20:06 »
While waiting for the funds for my new detector, i have a real bad itch that needs a scratch, so i went back through some of my old coins i was given as a kid, or found lying around in paddocks etc  ;D.
I stumbled across this ceylon 1908 1c coin. I see an old ebay auction where one sold for around $20. Does anyone know anything about these? are there certain mint marks worth more than others? etc. also does anyone have any idea of a rough value, or is it a copper melt job  :P
cheers

ps. how whould you grade its condition? it has some discolouration, but i think it is superficial and will clean up ok.

LL, if you live in a capital city you could ask your local coin dealer. Melbourne has a few.

    Cheers

The ceylon coin reminded me to post some odds and ends that i was shown today. I think he had something similar in the bag.
