Ok.... Have been playing with this for the last few hours and all I can say is WOW....

This is the program what Minelab SHOULD have provided with the E-Trac.

The application can be a little on the complex side at times, but I have managed to upload/download .ptrn and .mode files with no problems DIRECT to/from the application.

It has a neat little editor that allows you to play around with the discrimination and looks like it has been based on the excel file that you can get from thebeepgoeson.com

You can import/export .prtn and .mode files so you could post them here in the forum for others to upload/download.
You can archive off patterns and modes for recall at a later date so you can store heaps of them on your PC and then just recall them and upload directly to the E-Trac in any of the pattern/mode locations. All the archiving is managed within the application so there is no need to go searching for the file on your PC that you saved 10 months ago and forgot where the hell you saved it.

Sadly the application (once again) is designed for an American user base so it talks about things like clads etc. but this was the only fault I have found with it so far.

NOTE FOR MINELAB (the company): Take a look at this application and understand that this is what your customers want. Not some small piece of software that is a pain in the butt and crippled to the point of being virtually useless.

This is one program that I would class as a MUST HAVE if you own an E-Trac.

Minelab prompt as usuall have replied.

"Yes we are aware of it, it was done by an independent guy & seems to work extremely well.
Anyone wanting to use it is encouraged as it is available free of charge & works well"
