Yes it works very well Snoopy, before I made the meter I couldn't hear the different tones from the Sov.With the meter the numbers tell me what I hear and have made the detector so much easier for me to learn. Since fitting I have got 3 Florins,2 shillings 6 sixpences 8 Threepence's heaps of pennies and halfpennies before the meter all I had was lots of pulltabs and ring pulls.best thing I did to the sovereign

most of my finds have come from old towns in my area. Since using the meter I have a better idea what the target is so I am not wasting time digging pull tabs. When I first put the meter on I would dig everything until I had a better idea what to dig or not. When in a real trashy spot I slow sweep down to id each target. I think I must be tone deaf as I cant hear a lot of difference in the tones I can hear some difference but not a lot

    http://dcdetec.com/meter/meter.htm

This site give basics.I used a 0-20v dc volt meter which runs from 9v battery instead of multimeter which is housed in plastic project box. I used a 6 wire microphone ext lead to go from control box to coil lead I stripped the plug on one end of this and hooked up volt meter to pins 5 and 6, cant remember which is + and - but doesn't matter if wrong just reverse wont hurt any thing will just give a neg reading.
