Ha

Do I get a prize as I am the first to start it off.

I picked this up today from a cheap tool shop in Footscray for $6 should be okay for the work in the parks.

Great for removing old head gaskets, see if Tex will send ya a pic of his digging tool for parks, a piece of stainless tube sharpened and shaped. Killer

It may be a bit tough on hard ground. A fairly narrow flat tip is actually easier on you. Poke around until u feel a "clink" or just keep poking to soften the general area up. The end needs to be a compromise between poking into hard ground and still being able to use a flat end to wedge the coin up. So not to large and not to small either. All imo of course.Good luck, see how u go, matter of refining techniques and tools over time.

I just bought that probe & hook combo off eBay but haven't had a chance to use it. If it works it's a bargain at $10!

Killer put me onto them a while back and found it to work good in the parks it just lift them out of the grass.

I cant rate the Garrett tool made of some composate material i managed to snap the tip off first use, mind you it is light ,had inch measurements on inside curved blade but didn't live up to bigpuds heavy hands in slightly clayey soil . $14.75 retail.

I've tried a couple and the one I use now so far rates very highly for me. $20 at Big W. The serrated edge is great if you come across roots and also good for the couch (sp?) grass. Cuts plugs beautifully and is very very strong.

Nice one Snoopy, bought myself 2 today. Your right, they are quite solid. I can't see it bending in a hurry

Big W had them listed as a $20 clearance item (down from $28). To me that suggests when they run out that's it.

Lesche arrived next day from whites dunnolly,while walking to the mailbox i found $20 in the gutter so the tool became a little cheaper. The wife had a look at it and tried to claim it for gardening. Rwork

T.C i found it really helpfull digging gold out amongst the tree roots.I wonder about the double sided blade,probably comes under prohibited knifes. Rwork

I just got this last week from Bunning for $5 because it's so wet down here just ended up with wet knees all day but now I can stay up and just cut the grass plug with this.

Yep your right $5 how can you go wrong as long as you just use it to cut the plug out then as you do roll it out find your target and roll the plug back in it's worked fine for me

Just been out to the Werribee Plaza to Big-W and got two of your Knifes that you use for $20 each so will see how I go with it , I don't I will break it as the ground is so wet and soft

The sheath with the belt clip that the knife fits in is worth it $20

Yeah I have two of those sheaths but use neither one. You can have those for $5 ea

I broke one of those Big W knives a while back but it's my own stupid fault for forcing a big-arse rock out of a hole

Anyway so I just went and bought another one. The guard on it can dig into your hands though after a while - hence the Michael Jackson look in my latest videos (one glove). Last week I decided to see what the fuss is about this Lesche digger and I ordered one! Should be here this week

I just got one of those knives from BigW. Sturdy lil bugger. It should be a good tool for parks. I also got a small shovell from there too. $9 !! Bargain. Solid metal all the way through. No more snapping shovells like on Monday

Also got a small pick from the camping shop for $16. The aresonal is complete & with my new X-Terra on the way it should be a good week next week
