old key?
« on: October 16, 2011, 15:01 »
as posted in outings, i got this 1899 penny thats been cut into some kind of key. when i first pulled it out, it looked like an old spam/kipper key that u used to use to open the tins. however it was reading a solid high number, so i decided to clean it up just incase. good thing i did  ;D. any ideas what it is?

nice find.  could be just somebody passing time by cutting up a penny or as you suggested a homemade key of some sort - maybe clock key

thanks for that, clock might make sense. i should add that it appears to be a key due to a very slight twist in it when u look at it side on. not bent, but corkscrewed.
    cheers
