Tesoro Deleon
« on: October 22, 2011, 21:49 »
Just wondering if any members on the forum use or have used a Tesoro Deleon detector. I would be interested in TID numbers for Australian coins. I haven't had a chance to get out with mine as yet, (wife got a big list of jobs and not one includes detecting :'()

Cheers,

Hi rocker53,..I don't have a Deleon, but am using a Cortes..same internal workings, but can't say I use the digital numbering system much...I was "taught" the hobby using audio only on an older Tesoro, and have found the reliability of the human ear is pretty good...I only use the digital numbers  on questionable audio sounds,...having said that, I do know the $2.00 is consistantly around 72...The ear picks up the one dollars, 50 & 20 cent pieces on the higher discrimination, and I can't say I refer to the numbers much at all when I choose to dig those signals..I do keep my eyes open for the pre decimals though...a reliable 95 brings up the silver and coppers...that's where most of my focus is...good luck with the deleon...  :D
