That's actually a very reasonable asking price too.

If it was not specific to gold and instead was focused on older parks I'd definitely be keen ;)

Pete's right on there. I just got it and had a look and it has all the abandoned gold mines that I know of around Brisbane and the ranges so I'm happy with that. Not that I'm looking for gold at the moment.

THIS IS THE MOST COMPREHENSIVE LIST/MAP YOU WILL FIND.There is a total of 13478 way-points identified on this map.

As I have said this is not the MOST COMPREHENSIVE LIST as you should have 17580 Mine Locations for Vic and it is much more  for all the other state's

If all this was copy right then he would come after this post http://golddetecting.4umer.net/t2273-historical-gold-mines-in-google-earth

and every other Goverment site's that allow you to download there Mining Location Downloads under there Copy Right which are the rightful owner of the data.

Had a look at the DPI site at it's geological maps. Picked up some interesting patterns in the soil types & their relation to alluvial gold deposits. Maybe this could be the start of an interesting piece of research? Handy thing is it had the northings & eastings to put into the gps. Ohhhh I can feel the gold already :)

One of the other gold forums david and i watch had a guy trying to sell the location of a big reef of gold he claimed he could see with google and also wanted a helicopter ride to the site. After he got laughed at he would unregister himself and reregister with a different user name and try again.  :)

Love it , I bet they never find gold and  need to talk shit to make themself feel good. There is allot of funny stories out there at what others will do to make a buck.

    Willy46

Good on you for the research and that is the only way to go if you want to track down Au gold ground, look at reef lines north & south look at the gullies running east and west through them and work the slopes on the down ward side of the hill from the reef this is called virgin ground and were the gold would rest on its journey down the slope to the gully.

Next thing o start to research on your maps is leads there is two types shallow leads and deep leads.

He's put a lot of work into the cd. Surprisingly it's actually pretty good. I think it will be a handy piece in the research jigsaw puzzle. Is it worth $44? No. $15 - $20 sure. But for me it takes the time out of having to do that research so if I find gold & it has assisted, well it will be I guess.
