way to go CD.  i spose the tracker picks up the small gold you found in an air test? what do you think the probplem is with the unit in gold hunting.? ??? most reckon they won,t ground balance in high mineralisation areas. nice find anyway, cheers 8)

A few nice chunky bits in there corydale.  Was that a local find, or did you have to travel for it. I went to Kilkivan today and panned a few small bits, but the January floods that went through have knocked down trees over my favourite spot where i creviced once.  :(

the BH wont pick up that nice big bit even in an air test. i tried all kinds of settings- i think the biggest thing is gold needs to be there to find! i think it would find a substantial size piece but the chances of finding that where i was are preatty bad.
surprisingly the BH remained nice and quiet on some mineralised ground. at one point i actualy thought i had found something. i couldnt pin point it so i dug a hole and took the material down to the water hole. a mate had his x-terra 705 there and it screamed over the material but we then worked out it was mineralisation. to be sure i panned it anyway and came up with nada.

That is exciting to find that, I wonder if my ATPRO can detect gold, take me with you next time (wink). What is the dollar value on it roughly?

Thanks for sharing. I went out yesterday and found $2. Still learning oh and 63 cents from my backyard.

:D hi CD. thanx for the reply. seems  the BH,s are,nt the go for gold,as per common opinion.horses for courses eh. you had a good time and some result so that,s good. so many brands, models, hard to know what to get for gold hunting, especially on a budget.
weell, persevere with the 33000 for awhile until i find some goodies  ::)  cheers 8)

Good find Cory. You did beter than me this weekend. Came up with some nice relics though from my old father inlaw's past when he was a boy in the gold fields up here. Know a lot of good gold areas -- just might go back to panning myself after the coming wet after seeing your finds. LOL  :)
