Lead pieces? Gambling chip???
« on: January 03, 2012, 18:17 »
Hi all when I found two tokens , the signal was very jumpy and broken and I had to dig deep to investigate .one of the tokens was actually touching one of the lead pieces which has got the green from the copper on it in the picture, I found seven lead pieces and two tokens all close to each other and they are the same diameter as the tokens .there are no markings on the lead pieces my thoughts are they were being used as chips the tokens and the lead but i can't be sure. Home made chips may be. Can anyone help? Thanks

thats a new one.  would not doubt the gambling chip theory.  dont think they are roof washers.

i know the europeans and americans on the goldfields used the chinese coins as gambling tokens.

    Interesting finds.
I am liking the gambling chip idea, seems like a good train of thought.
