TV show Bondi Rescue meets Jewellery Rescue
« on: January 11, 2012, 18:14 »

I was  called by the producer of Bondi Rescue to search  for a  young surfers gold braclet  lost possibly while surfing.  He was surfing that morning went to the mall realised the braclet was gone.

Well clearly evey detectorist here would  be right to assume this is possibly mission impossible. He was  a young adult so  he was not out too far surfing so there was a slight chance.

The young guy came out  with me into the surf we where detecting and recovering alot of junk jewellery but not his braclet,  It was the wrong time to search high tide  but  they dont care about those little details in tv land.

The life guard bet me 20,000 to 1 I wouldnt find it  as it turned out  he won that bet  I lose a  $1  lucky I had a few  from the surf lol.   I warned him he  should make that bet with me too often as  70% of water  jobs i find the  targets and  he would be indebit to me for $20K  sweet.

Any how  the next day  I went to Forster NSW and found  two diamond rings  for a very  relived  woman in the  rock pool up there.

I promised the lad a new search at low tide so i went back to bondi and hunted  low tide.  But that  day sections of the beach was closed of including where i was searching.  But the  life  safers  said go in they would  keep  an eye on me on a  sand spit heading out to sea  with a fast  rip  either  side.

Conditions where terrible the waves blasted in over the sand bar knocking me  back 8 feet at a time. Bloody hard if you hit a  target and have to refind it smacked about be several more waves and I an a big  solid  sort of  guy with a built in  wave  breaker rounded stomach and then  try position the scoop in strong water movments to dig.

End of the day JR networks job is to  try cover as much of the  search area as  possible regardless of odds  to find it.  This  sort of no find helps the customer firstly in years to come.

Well I would love  pulling that target out  for the show...

The New  season of  Bondi Rescue starts end of January and goes for  12 episodes approx.  The  way TV land works is they will use this  side story to fill in some episode possibly.  So  we  might be in  the series or  not.

I hope the editors are  kind to me lol.  Either  way I had a lot of fun stirring the cast and crew. Not to shy any more.
