    Hi All

I had to meet up with someone on Sturday to fix is GPS and load up is SD card for it and had acouple of hours to swing for gold and found 3 nice one's as well ----but had to return home that night and return to Castlemaine in the morning which I diid but this time I  hit some of the parks to see if I could pick up a coin or two well that was a big ask I never have trouble finding gold there but you think I could find a gold coin not a chance one empty wallet 2c,3-1c and that was it so some one is giving castlemaine a good going over. Cry

    Hi Detrackozi,
I hope to maybe get to Castlemaine when the weather cools in the autumn months. My mother was born in Caslemaine and my grandfather was a prospector on the goldfields amd it would be good if I can find a bit of gold from that area.
Bad luck about the parks. Looks like someone got in before you.
    Anyway, Happy Hunting.

    Detrackozi.
Nice little samples there and plenty more to be found around the district.
Seen a nice one, about half ounce, couple of weeks ago which surfaced after a bit of heavy rain we had.
Could get some heavy rain this weekend or before--storm brewing now.

    G'day David,

Wow mate good little patch eh.
Nice going 20 g is not too shabby at all at todays prices.
U gotta be happy with that.

You regularly bring the good stuff home.
Hey, I hope you dont mind me asking... how many oz's have you found over your time detecting ?
And, how long have you been at it ?
Sorry for the 3rd degree, dont answer if you dont want to.
I'm wondering if I should invest a heap of $ (a heap to me anyway) in a proper gold detector or not.
    Take it easy.

Got a nice patch there only 15 months back had walk around for two days while we we camp there and found 11grms but on the last day I said to my mate's going to take the 2100 for a walk today and hit a nice patch that gave me 3 oz's in 40mins but since then the patch is now just over 5 oz's

this is what the gold looks like rough a very very close to the surface.
