Hi yes i have heard of them one of my work mates bought one and it never worked from day one he got me to have a look at it the biggest piece of sh.t on the market could not pick up the side of my 12 meter shed from two inches  dont even look at them he tried and tried to get a responce from seben and they would not even talk to him they take your money and then you never hear from them they leave you like a shag on a rock.

Agree on the Seben as I have never heard a good word about them yet. THe BH Tracker IV is a good starter . Mine found me enough coin to buy the AT PRO. BH doesn't have the bells and whistles and doesn't like very rubbishy ground. Once I worked it out, I was able to recognise the  goldies 90% of the time in my search for upgrade funds. Can handle the wet sand and coils are cheap. I loved the sniper coil on it. Have I used it since I got the PRO. Nope not prepared to go back to that basic a detector :D .

I tried one of those  for a while.
It could not tolerate even slight amounts of iron mineralisation and could not find any of the targets in my back yard test patch
It worked ok on non mineralised freshwater river sand and high up on the beaches in dry sand. Depth on 20 cents was about 7 inches in dry river sand but when slight  iron mineralisation was encountered the depth decreased dramatically.
I rate it as ok for the kids to play around with but over priced.

I paid $5.00 for one at  garage sale. Probably paid too much but we are having a lot of fun with it the moment. Found a few goldies as well as bottle tops, tent pegs, bits of wire, ring pulls, 2 sets of keys. I'ts all a learning curve really.

IMO _  the Garrets are the best vaue for money ~

DO  as I did ~ I researched ad read the reviews ~ the road tests ~

IMO  there is no confusion ~ I narrowed it to two the Minelab or the Garrett AT Pro

All about  whether you will  use it and the  price ~

Manys thanks for your advice Stuart SS.
When you say that you believe the Garrets are the best vaue for money, what are the reasons? Do you cosider Minelabs overpriced?
