DIY Metal Detector
« on: August 06, 2013, 11:32 »
Greetings everyone, my first post so please excuse me If i make a few mistakes , and hope I am in the right area for this post.

I was wondering if anyone has  made their own MD from  scratch .
I recently purchaced a Surf  Pi 1.2 pcb and components from England. I am going to  make the main shaft from 25mm  electrical conduit.
And  flexi conduit for the main coil housing. The width of the board is 50mm in width and 170mm in length.
Once all assembled it should weigh  much the same as the XTerra  505 .

Cheers

I just recently ordered a CRAZY-STAR 1 Light .. pre-built, just have to put it in a box, got a minelab upper / lower shafts for it.. and a 28cm coil.

My Surf PI didn't turn out so well..

I wish I  could have bought a pre-made Pi1.2 would have it tested by now. This is my first major project and know very little about electronics..    I will have fun designing the shaft and the finding the right box to house the board in, no doubt and assembling the components.

I have found a few coins with my xt505  which I have had for a little over a year now..
