Try Jarcar for the magnets. My daughter got me a pair, about 12mm round and 20 mm long. I heated a length of plastic conduit and pushed one into the end. The other I used heat shrink, from Jarcar again, and stuck it onto the end of my little pick. Works a treat. Don't get your fingers between 2 of these magnets, or its a blood blister for sure.

Those rare earth magnets are terrific , Rwork has some with a hook screwed into them , that he sells in the BPC , I have had a couple , but my grandson keeps losing them , great for detecting in areas with a lot of rust flakes , I used to put the magnet in a plastic zip lock lunch bag , and rub it in the area I was detecting and the rust flakes could be pulled of the magnet when the bag was turned inside out , and the rust was inside the bag to be thrown into the bin , I cannot claim that as my idea though .

I use rare earth magnets for magnetizing Alnico in guitar pickups ;D
One magnet either side of vice jaws, slide the pickup through the middle just missing the sides and your done.
