Looks good LT
Would you say this is comparable to a GPX as in features & ability ?
What coils can you run with it ?

Any coil an SD-GP-GPX can take this one will...  DD-Mono.. all work no problem..

This one has been modified giving it 2 extra timings, gain, tone/vol/threshold control .. only comparison you can make between these machines and the GPX, is depth, and possibly sensitivity with heavy modification.

They're capable is all I'll say...  I made the mistake of buying a lot of 5 units recently they were in pretty rough shape.. so rather than sell them as they were, i got rid of the military junk and made them a bit more functional..

Don't think I'll mess with them again, Woody of detectormods.com has said on many occasions that they can be modified to give them the sensitivity equivalent of the 5000, SDC.. (i call bullshit) but I'm no electrical engineer, so I might well be wrong.

I met a bloke with a military modified machine and i think he said his was similar to a 2200 but a little more sensitive.
I wonder why the like system doesn't work on the Minelab section ?

I'd compare them to a 2200, and would definately agree on sensitivity.. It'll ping wire less than 1mm thick, and less than 1cm long bit of copper wire better than it will 0.1g nugget.. I guess thats due to its timings .. fine wire inside mines etc..

Also yeah, I noticed the likes aren't working.. big weird.

I mention the like system to Colin and see it applies now.

To Clarify so people aren't make assumptions... (The detector was modified INTERNALLY months ago) NOT by myself... I have nothing to do with internal modding of these machines, I will not mod your detector.. I will however share all the information I have with anyone who asks..

Once again, none of the internal mods were performed by myself..  If you want your detector modded, contact Ismael Jones, minelabmods.com or Peter Woodland. detectormods.com

G'day LazyTrommel.

I might be looking into getting one of these machines in the near future and I would like to have it modified. Do you have instructions for the modifications, and is it for all the mods or only some? If you can share then how do we contact?

Thank you.

Axtyr.

Thanks Rrwork.
I've only just joined this forum myself and I did notice he was using a Guest account which had no facility to email him.
