My Coiltek open coil used to get sticks caught in it. Coiltek supplied a solid base but then i found stones would go over the top and lay inside. I cut perspex and filled in the top as well. All sealed now but makes a noise like a drum when it gets into rough ground. I would never use an open coil again in the bush.

A project to undertake before next bush outing, will be to make a full cover skid plate for the open coils the 11x7" will not be to hard just need to chose a colour........... now the 15.1/2 x13" will be a more of a hurdle, but what's life without a challenge.

Long grass and open coils can be bothersome, after rain when grass is green even more so.!

Ivan, we do have a solid coil cover available for the medium coil. In fact, we recently started to include them in the packages at no extra charge based on customer feedbacks. If your package did not include one, contact dilek@noktadetectors.com and we will send you one.

Gratefully received from Nokta  via my next door neighbour 28Jan.2015, after a somewhat long journey........must be the UPS route.
Start at, Yesilkoy Istanbul,Turkey.....Koeln,Germany.....Louisville,KY,USA.....Honolulu.HI,USA.....Botany, Au.....Brisbane, Au.....Cairns Au......My neighbour.......finally to I.

ivanll

Hello Ivan.. I received your delivery address from you on the 16th of January. My team including myself happened to be in the USA. We shipped your coil cover as soon as we returned back from our trip via UPS express. UPS picked it up on the 21st in the afternoon and it was delivered to you on the 28th. UPS takes around 5 business days to deliver to AU so the delivery time is absolutely normal.

Look forward for your results ivan  im considering one myself ,,   I think that switch could of been of better quality , I can see sand and other bits of grit getting in without some protection ,, the silicon tube is a good idea for protection ,,,

Must cost you a fortune in silicon tubing Ivan, going off the detectors you have, and have had over the years that didn't come with switch protection. ;D
Should have thought about doing this before i took my detectors to WA due to the red dust. Not that its ever been a problem, still a good tip none the less.

No doubt about you Ivan....think we'll call you Ivan MacGyver. ;D

Have you done any audio comparisons with it compared to the FG.? Any unmasking of targets in situ with high mask settings to see if it clips the audio in the same way the FG does.?

Unusual ring Ivan, a better find than all the previous bottle caps you have shown.
Our only prospecting club member with a Nokta is taking it to outback Qld soon. Will post if any results.

Nice going ,,,  the ring is a ripper ,,, the bottle tops and $ is a bit of a bugger  if you were wanting to cherry pick by the numbers  , but the racer is proving to be a good detector ,
Thanks for that ivan ,,

You have to love the way these detectors just lock onto a number.

Using the overload of the FG models in the goldfields, iv dug some nice relics. As much as i think overload should not occur on anything smaller than the bottom of a coke can....its useful.
