I know my report is not as well described as SH its in more layman's terms that we can all relate to .
Ivnall did you try some of the settings up your way?
All going well I should be heading out again in a week or so
Need to go over that new ground we found at the last outing

Thanks for a great report on testing the FORS Gold on hot ground and your invaluable information on crucial settings..I plan to buy the Gold + model and hopefully the FST mode will work well.

If "Ivnall" refers to me, then Yes I've tried many settings at a test patch on my property so I knew what to expect before going to a goldfield.
Beyond that I let the area to be searched and items searched for dictate the settings to be used.
Have compared the FORS Gold to a GB-1,GB-2, GB-Pro and GMT over here and on WA soil, for the area searched and what I was interested in I'll stick with the FORS Gold.
Pictures from WA is on my laptop in a secure location only hooked up to the internet for updates via Internet Security programs.  :police:

No it had nothing to do with you "SH" was as in Steve Herschbach's report about the unit
Mind you I have since converted the detector to a pin-pointer to help aid the "Z" with its 19" coil ;)
