Tracker IV DD Coil
« on: March 07, 2015, 15:43 »
Hey folks,
Has anyone come across any other DD coils that work on the Tracker IV? I saw an old post about a fisher coil below - are there any cheaper DD coils that would work available now?
On a suggestion here on the forum, i was hoping a DD coil would improve performance on the beach with my tracker IV?
Thanks guys.

The old  fisher f2 and f4 11" dd with push in plug coil lead will fit ,, no real advantage on depth with the tracker4 ,  you need higher end detector like a titan 9000 or landstar or lonestar or the  time ranger to gain a little more depth ,,,
I tried it with my time ranger and ended up going back to the concentric 10" commander coil ,, then I stuck with the 8" coil that was imo better at finding the coins and disc than the 10" coil ,

I actually don't want more depth i just heard that a DD coil will cut down the effects of wet sand?

Hey Finnius.
My Tracker IV runs at full sensitivity right down to the salt water with the standard coil. Good stable machine.

Thanks towelly!
I will definitely try that when my tracker IV arrives before i go purchasing any other coils.
Off to the beach we go! ;D
Do you do much relic hunting at old sites with your tracker? If so, how does it perform?

The Tracker IV performs well. Mine stays in my car and as a result of being so handy, I've found more jewellery with it than any other detector I own. I've dug coins down to 6 inches in parks and a bit deeper on beaches. I mostly use mine as a recent drop machine so great depth is not a concern for me as I have other detectors for that task. You will be happy with it, the 3 way discrimination toggle makes it very versatile. Don't submerge the coil in salt water though, its not made for it and it will false.
