Garrett AT Propointer (Carrot)
« on: September 30, 2016, 15:05 »
All,
Just updated gave the new carrot a run last night and very pleased with the results. Very sensitive and a great little addition of a Layard attach loop. Old Garrett was well over 5 yrs old and slowly wearing down and losing sensitivity.
Highly recommend getting one if you are looking at upgrading.

Used mine now for over 6 months and like it. Does cut out for some reason on large metal targets at times but I tried turn it off and back on again.

have bothe the original black pin pointer and the latest carrot. I reckon Garrett should make them rechargeable via a mini usb port like the deus/ctx and change the l.e.d for a super bright cree l.e.d that has an additional on off option to save the battery life. that imo would be the ultimate pin pointer.

I think I need a new pointer soon, the end of my old Garrett is wearing away a bit, I use it to dig that last little bit when the target is close

Rechargeables are great so long as you remember to recharge em...
More than once have gone somewhere and had to live through the nightmare of using the coil to find my target after digging it out.
A skill that atrophies rapidly in the presence of a pin pointer.
Glad to hear owners of the Garrett are happy with it.

I use a Nocta, it comes with two protective covers for the pointer, and has good adjustable sensitivity.  Also have the Pistol Probe, that I don't use that much now.
