Whats happening with all the F1A4s ?
« on: December 11, 2016, 12:13 »
Hi all,
there was a lot of activity a while back when they hit the disposal market.
I bought one and found 1 little sub gram nugget and very happy at that! [only did 2 outings, no opportunities to get out].
But how has everyone done with theirs?
Over to you...................................

We had one modified F1 (stage 2)in the club, it was fairly useless even with a small coil compared to modern detectors. Owner sold it and purchased a 45.

Met a Fella at Laanecoorie that had one, he had stage 3 mods whatever that is?
He loved it and had just bought and SDC with the Finds from the F1. Said he would never sell it as it just produced so regularly.
Each day I was there he came back with a few bits all found with the F1.
Happy Hunting

That is a bit like what I have heard re the F1 in that a fully moded unit is pretty good on small gold.
I have a bit of info  somewhere that gives a good description of the mods. If I find it I will post it here.
Maybe someone else can describe them in the mean time.

Here is a bit of info.
