Still plugging away with my 2300 fun machine.
« on: October 10, 2017, 18:09 »
Been off for quite a while as the reward for a couple of days detecting has been disappointing - just 6 or 7 bits for a gram or less but last trip out for 3 days or so netted 34 bits for 4.46 grams - best day getting 14 bits for 2 grams - tried to keep count of shotgun pellets and other trash but gave in in the finish  :P
Just home from the gold bash at Laanecoorie- first time look - was very busy and crowded - lots of stalls selling all sorts of detecting gear - sluices and panning pouches with some gold and gem stones - very popular with the youngsters.
Not getting any easier out there in the bush often seeing 2 or 3 cars in any one area. Getting hot now just to make things harder  >:(

Cheers all - have fun.

Good work there mate, the sdc is pretty deadly on that small stuff, I used my mates a bit this season, not a bad rig at all.

No Ray but I did run into Matt the Taylor - he was in his element panning off the kids gold with one of those new big plastic panning dishes - they work very well.

Those pans work ok under competition conditions were the gravel is clean , but get them in real world conditions like in a creek with mud and they just clog up.
