505 ground balancing
« on: December 28, 2017, 13:50 »
G'day Guys and Gals and seasons greetings to you all.My question is regarding ground balancing the xterra 505.I wondered had anyone had any difficulty ground balancing the machine on certain soils? as in the two years ive been detecting with the terra there have been a couple of instances where it just refused to balance at all.Normally most soils, lawns etc it will balance ok.Do they call this phenomenon negative or neutral ground or am i mistaken? any thoughts on this subject appreciated.thanks in advance

If you can give more of a description of the soil may be helpful plus what frequency/type of coil you were using.
EMI can sometimes make the machine unstable and unable to GB properly, usually flick through the channel frequency offset or lower the sensitivity.

Thanks Radar,I couldnt tell you the type of soil this has occured on as it has just happened on a couple of occasions but i was just using the stock standard 7.5  9inch concentric.but ill try that little bit of advice you gave and hopefully that will alleviate the situation in future.thanks again!
