Found this week

While detecting alongside an old walking track on the Mornington Peninsula last week i noticed a strange hollow in-between two trees. Immediate thought was of course Oak island and buried treasure. It just looked like a hole that had been dug and filled back in. I ran the CTX over the hollow and got a nice 12:38 return. But once i started digging i starting to think maybe a dead cat with a metal collar. Turned out it was neither of those but a little copper pot about 5cm across and 5 cm high. A little disappointing until i started shaking out the dirt and then out popped the coin. It did have a golden glow and for a moment i got quite excited, but it looks like its just a copper.
Anyway a little research and i think the symbol on the front is LAKSHMI the Indian Goddess of wealth and prosperity, but i am just not sure why it was buried off the beaten track. Any ideas???

The pot and coin (token) were probably buried as some form of ritual. You possibly just screwed up someone’s karma. >:D  If it had been mine, it would have been a 🐈. Or a 🐓. Our back yard is a virtual cemetery of departed critters, going back over 20 years.....

No gold teeth in there? You did them a favour by scattering the ashes Oceandog.. If you are feeling uneasy about things..you could return the items and add a $1 coin as a good luck token..cheers..Dave
