Help with Apple.
« on: May 19, 2018, 17:21 »
Hi guys.

I bought a camera but can't post pics.

Anyone with an Apple MacBook Air that could give us (my wife) a few pointers?

Hi kg1.With my apple computer I just connect the camera to the computer via the USB port and hit the photos icon which is located along the bottom of the screen in the centre( circle with coloured pattern inside ).Once you do this a prompt comes up in the top right of the screen asking if you want to download the pics from the camera.Once you do this all you have to do is proceed as normal for putting up on the forum.

Hope this helps or you can send me a P.M if you like.

Phil

Hi Phil,
I had no problem downloading the photo's from camera to the computer. The problem is when i try to attach the photo from my laptop onto the forum. When i try to attach one photo it comes up that the file is to big to download.

Have you experienced this problem? any help appreciated.

Try opening the photo in iPhoto, then click file, export, export 1 photo and then choosing a a lower JPEG quality.
hope this helps!

Double click the picture it will open preview then got to tools and with in that you can adjust the size and save under another name so you keep the original

Thanks for the help guys.

I managed to get one pic through by cropping it but can't seem to get any others through.

I've tried following your instructions but seem to hit snags every time I try.

Will seek the help of an Apple technician, computer needs a clean up anyway.

Cheers.

If you got one to post then you are probably doing everything correctly. I have to crop pictures from apple gear as mine uses a format that takes a lot of room. A Png picture file will be about 4 or 5 Mb compared to a normal Jpg file of under a Mb.
Basically Apple pictures seem to be a larger size than the 2Mb allowed here.
Your gold ring picture was about 3/4 of a Mb.and was a Jpg type.

Ray, I re tried and first attempt the pic went through no worries.

I've since tried a few times to send more pics through with no luck, so somethings not quite right.

I use IPhone and Ipad.  I just take a photo with a lot of background then edit it out.  That reduces the size of the file dramatically.
