Trademarks Late 18th Century to circ 1900
« on: May 30, 2018, 22:53 »
Hi all,

Found this reference today: https://sha.org/wp-content/uploads/files/sha/Parks%20Canada/pc_english_18.pdf

"TRADEMARKS ON BASE-METAL TABLEWARE
Late 18th century to circa 1900 (including marks on Britannia
metal, iron, steel, copper alloys and silver-plated goods)"

Has a good index for the symbols.

Used it tonight to identify a marker & age for a trophy that the Melbourne Cricket Club Museum could not identify and they contacted me about(from my contact with them on cricket buckles) Trophy ended up being silver-plated, Atkins Brothers, Sheffield, p12 markings "A B * S".

cheers -b.

Clegy doesn’t want pinned posts. You have to look through the lot.
