EQ 800 help pls
« on: June 05, 2018, 22:30 »
Hi All you equinox 800 users, just a question.
Unit comes with the WM08 module and the ML80 headphones, how are you using this setup??
Either the ML80s just with the machine or are you using WM08 module with the ML80s wired in???

Opinions needed pls.

Regards

I just bluetooth the headphones straight to the machine. I guess the module is more for using with a set of wired headphones that the user prefers and/or are of a higher quality.  I'm quite happy with the supplied set and the wireless ability.

I plugged the WM08 into the ML80's throw that over my shoulder and put in back pocket so that cable is running down my back and out of the way.

Took me a few times to find the right place for it but that is working for me. Not used to dealing with cables. LOL

Do whatever works for you mate and is comfortable.

No need to use the WM08 with the supplied headphones at all , or other Bluetooth ones that are low latency ++ . If you have some high quality wired headphones then the WM08 is the go .

Agree, haven't needed to use the WM08 as yet.  The Bluetooth headphones supplied are good enough for me and true wireless is the way to go.

The only complaint I have is that they're not waterproof/resistant.  I'm looking for a good set of APT-x low latency waterproof earbuds, but haven't found any yet that I don't have to see my first born for!!

I was wondering about using the wireless headphones on the beach Sambo..especially when there is salt spray in the air. Might cut off the appropriate plugs from leads to bung up the holes.

Iv'e used both , started with the wm08 with sony earbuds because that's
what i was used to. I think this setup has less latency ( just ), but the placement and wires are problematic
The bluetooth headphones are good for keeping the cap on and the ears warm
the 800 tries to connect with the wm08 first , so it can be a minute or two before they pair.

I do know of a person that is currently working on wireless waterproof headphones for equinox.
Prototype is in late testing and is looking good.
I'll make some noise as soon as I am let off the chain.
