Perth Gold! (Follow up to Tassie Gold)
« on: June 06, 2018, 10:31 »
Well it's that time of year again, when the national shooting championships start to roll around, this year the ones I'm competing in are spread between WA, SA and QLD.

It was WA's turn last weekend, Air Rifle Field Target, a very challenging shoot over some "long" (for an air rifle) distances at some small targets in a natural bush setting.
YouTube vid on ARFT

As I am the WA discipline delegate for the event I was busy organising things and making sure it ran well but still managed a respectable 3rd overall with 3 gold medals in 3 different categories, same as last year in Tas.

It seems I'm destined to be second loser.....

Unlike last year, we had near perfect conditions this time around (after a VERY average day on Thursday for setup) and there were some decent scores as expected. I shot a PB, there were 2 National records broken and I know a few others shot PB's too.

Anyone Perth based who wants to have a go PM me.

man that looks like heaps of fun. Well done on more golds sneaky, you are the man!!!! The air rifles have come a very long way since the days of the single shot break action ones I had in my school years. I been offered to hunt on another property in the wheatbelt and seen a wild pig on my last prospecting trip so I'll talk to the station manager about knocking over some of them.
