I think I may have found my oldest coin in Ipswich QLD yet... but having trouble ID'ing...

I found a couple of these in the UK earlier this year but both were totally toasted.. so is this one but it's way better then the other two..

I would call G3 halfpenny, if you soak for a while in CLR it may take some layers of crud off and expose more detail.

A method that is used by archaeologists, that you may know of, is to freeze the coin in distilled water (on its edge). The ice crystals break off the crud without doing any (more) damage to the coin. I haven’t tried it, but have seen pics of it. It does clean up a corroded penny a bit.
