You guys are killing me, They are all awesome relics. I can't wait to find a cricket buckle. No matter where i go i can't find one, maybe they didn't play cricket on the Mornington Peninsula or they used string to hold their pants up.

Got this one last weekend, unfortunately it got all busted up by the Plow, it appears that the blokes are making cricket bats. Has anyone seen a complete one. .?

Hard to see what they are doing. Looks like a sports arena in the background but it seems the bloke in the middle has an axe. Maybe he was unhappy with a call or it could be a flag?

Thanks Brian, when I read the article it was ringing away that I'd seen the design somewhere.  I scanned all pages of this thread but must have had a "man look"  ;D.

For an item that was so popular for a large number of years, there's not a lot of references in the historical record!!!

Hi all. My wife and I found these cricket buckles on 30/4/18. I found the victory one next to a fence. Almost missed it due to the interference. My wife found the swallow one in a small clump of trees we were in. I must have missed it by a foot as i had walked in a similar spot 5 minutes earlier. Thats detecting I guess. Glad my wife found it. We were able to find the victory one in the Australian Detectorist Recovered Cricket Buckles Book, but there is no reference to the other. It has a phrase that says “As Swift As The Swallow.” We can’t find any info in our searches on Google.
