When I smell electrical smoke , I know its going to cost me money ??? , my pin pointer was not working ,  thought it was a flat battery , when I unscrewed the cap the smoke escaped , it was still under warranty , but the postage was all mine , how that works out when its not my fault , I don't know ! ::)

I repaired a guys pro-find a few weeks ago, he had the bright idea that if he removed the LED, It would give more power to the coil.... :o

Nice topic I enjoyed reading everyone's posts so I will add mine. My son Reginald and I have tried a few different things but mainly we are sailors who enjoy sailing both our trailer sailer a 28 foot south coast magnum called Water Pistol and sailing boards on flat water and the surf. Mabee you just figured out why I do mostly beach hunting?  True they go together very well. While we're  waiting for the wind to blow we can go hunting.

A pity we don't have a watch repairer around here. We had a member of a church group, Bretheren i think, but he moved away. I think you used to be an instrument repairer Adrian ?

Just recently started into Geocaching. My wife loves it and so trips away to detecting spots are planned around routes with caches to find along the way.

OK, this is the LAST old thread I will resurrect tonight (yes I am bored, away from home and aint got me no friends...)

Shooting, (currently in Tas for a couple of weeks for 3 Nationals anyone around Deloraine or Blue Hills hit me up) machining both manual and CNC, I have a manual lathe and a milling machine I have retro fitted a CNC kit to, now I can make some cool stuff for my shooting hobby and my detecting hobby. (not sure what yet, open to ideas other than a beach scoop, already done that)

I see i don’t have a comment in this post. I just looked back through them all.
A lot now show as guests and some are still members but don’t post anymore.
Like all our members i have an interest in Metal Detecting. I was A grade in Free and Air pistol but just appear at the club now when they are short on help. I do some Event photography and will see some of our members at the Wedderburn Token hunt.
I have a Z1A 650 which i purchased new. We have plenty of bikes and cars in the family and I enjoy going for a ride sometimes. I have an interest in Electronics and was a communication antenna manufacturer. I was also a licenced gun dealer back in the 1980’s but don’t bother much now. I led the Victorian rally in Melbourne against the changes in semi auto firearms and was up on the truck with John Howard when he had his flak jacket on. When i got on the bus to Melboune i didn’t know they needed a flag bearer and got conned into carrying a big banner with a friend from here. As it happened i am now glad the changes were made.
