I fish, although not as much as I once did.  Have aquariums, collect antique fishing tackle and often fish with it.  Have done a bit of photography over the years and also play about with digital graphics.

Bottle collecting since around 1975. Hunting for gemstones since around 1967. Here's a link to one of the fossicking around Glen Innes series of videos I've just started on: #Invalid YouTube Link#

Nothing really at the moment.  I stopped coin collecting when I started this, started to sell the coins!
Maybe count gardening, juggling, cooking....

Southern Swamp Ash
Heres an exact dimensions copy of a 1952 Fender telecaster, still raw, that is also Southern Swamp Ash which i am making into a single pickup Esquire.

Heres a mockup, the pick guard will actually be flat black bakelite for authenticity.

Heres an unfinished Alder body project using a TV Jones pickup its a bit of a knock off of the Fender La Cabronita Especial the i call "La Azucar Mama" or The Sugar Mama in english

Over the years have had a few hobbies, working in the shipyards, whiskey making and detecting are probably my favourites.
Built three so far, would like to do another but the trouble and strife says sell one to build another. :(

Wow you make an excellent ship, great crafsmanship. I worked in the shipyards at Carrington Slipways when i was 15 for $10 a day, big money then, i still work on the wharfs these days down at Port Of Melbourne. My wife also says build one sell it then build another, problem is i build them for me  ::)

GG and Tony..... great stuff guys! Talent personified!

Me?  More the hunter gatherer.... in the fishing sense.... gave up on mammals many years ago and will only eat non slaughterd  critters with the exception of chicken.
Fish I have no problems getting, being and (forgive the big head) an expert spearfisherman of 42 years experience.
The diving is of great benefit to my detecting.

Scratchin, ;D i'm trying to find a 20ft gold chain to pay for the 20 ft yacht, then i could detect and paint where ever i like.  The good days were before the credit crisis, when i had 6ft paintings hanging in foyers, such as Seahaven on Noosa Hastings st.  The gallery shut its doors a couple of years ago, and few more shops in Hastings have shut down and left.  :- Bad sign when they shut shops in Hastings, Noosa.  I once won a $5000 award in the Sunday Mail art Comp for this Pelican painting, and won two other awards in the Australian Art magazine. Tonyw, very nice photography. Stick to it, i reckon ;)
wow G,
real art.
very talented, there is a shop around your way, go arty. do you have anything there?
back on topic,
my other main hobby would be carnivorous plants, i have been growing them for a while. I do love a good volkswagen, though i dont have one right now, but will get another as soon as i have the room.
and cooking, always cooking,
baking, frying, rolling basting, whatever,
the kitchen is my living room.
right now my signature dish is puree.
here's my new jr. masterchef making pizza dough and apple puree.

Ah, cute little fella Spillver. You dont seem to have the right look for a pizza chef ;D ;D. I dont have any art in Go arty. I was in about 4 of the major galleries on the coast, around 2001, but they have all closed doors now, as it's a luxury item, not many can afford at the moment. I heard it was even hard for some of the Melbourne Artists as well. I kept in contact with a couple of the national artists and my mentors from Melbourne.

My other hobby for the last 7 years Ford XB coupe. The car is currently sitting fully stripped to its bare shell waiting for the last 2 years for the panel beater spray-painter to come pick it up hence i had to find something else to amuse myself with so here i am.

This is a render of how it will look when finished one day.

Good thread!.

That ship is a real work of art, as are the paintings and your Guitars Tony ;)
Spillver, starting him young!. Ive been a Chef for 16 years now - he might be a bit young for an apprentice yet ;D

My main hobby (which ties in with detecting nicely) is digging, researching  & collecting Antique bottles :).
Both my Father & grandfather were collectors. my earliest memories are of going out looking for old bottles.
It was in the early 80's that my father bought a detector - we used to use it looking around early miners camps. I think the best find from those days was an 1860's Shilling & lots of Pick heads.

Heres a couple of pics of the bottles I have now, they are all from the region I grew up in. I used to have 00's from all over NZ & a few from Aus. But downscaled dramatically before shifting to AUS :)

Hi  well  i am the odd one  LOL

I listen, read and learn Australian Rural Culture and Folk Law . When i was kid i always wanted to be the best at whistling with both mouth and finger use. Took me years and then i was 20 i started copying bird whistles and mating calls. Blackbirds through to birds of prey. Its amazing then they come real close and you duel with them. Throat calls like pigeon and even ducks .

I like to find as much as possible in another hobbie . "Four Penny Splender"  Building Mini Displays  Latest addition is the common whistle. The whistles is the easy part getting  the other items that match the time frame and connection is the hard part. Only been on the whistle collecting for about a mouth and i have 2 dozen displays to make. Only one is about half complete . Heres a few emaples of the mini displays in recent times.  My hunting partner is now hooked on this too.LOL
