AT US version.
« on: February 09, 2014, 18:34 »
I'm on the verge of buying an AT Pro (finally!) and am leaning toward the US version, having had previous experience with the Euro Ace with it's "Europeanised" target ID.

Having looked around a number of US dealer sites, it seems Garrett aren't allowing them to ship their products outside of the US now.

Am I right in this, or have I just been looking at the wrong sites?

Enlightenment would be gratefully received!   :)

That's correct, dealers in the US cannot post to Australia, under threat of losing their dealership from Garrett, has been like that since late last year.

Hi Slothy, where did you end up ordering from? Once I can scratch the cash together I'll be looking to upgrade :)

I finished up buying a very slightly used Inter from one of our fine members, along with 5x8 and NEL Hunter coils.

Mate, I'm loving the thing!   ;D

I wouldn't worry about whether it's a US or Inter.  I was a bit gunshy after having a Garret EuroAce, which is a damned good machine but set up to suit paddock bashing for relics rather than coins shooting.

Nice work! I may end up buying second hand when the time comes, but then I'm tempted to have a bid on a second hand X-Tera 305 on eBay at the moment.. it might at least get me into it a bit more as the el cheapo I have is quite frustrating at getting information on targets without the digital number display.

That'd work, or a Fisher F2 seems pretty good value for the money.

It's a whole new game when you've got a machine you're confident in and can avoid at least some of the more obvious crap targets.  I still dig plenty of crap with the AT, but at least it's mostly stuff I can anticipate.

Well, mostly....  ;D
