:)   I think it is a matter of just being in the right place. I never found any with the ace 350 or b/h discovery3300. it doesn't mean they won't find such coins. it was a matter of  thinking where would be a likely place. my old school, of course. so one day I had a swing and found  a florin  2x 6d and a 3d. as well as pennies and halfs. with a nearly acquired m/l 305. I went on to find another   5 silvers around town. I think the choice of site is most important. it needs to have had pre 66 activity, at the very least. keep on it.

Definately about right place right time, I'd found silver rings with my crappy chinese detector I started out with and have found silver pre-decs with the bounty hunter Sharp shooter II, minelab excalibur 1 and my sovereign, though they are usually few and far between each silver predec.
  • Detector(s) owned/used: Began with a Goldsnoop, Bounty Hunter Sharp Shooter II, Garrett A2B Groundhog. Tried a Excal, now using XS2-pro Sovereign and a XT1700
  • Oldest find: A english military button from about 1885
If it's shiny or moves I'll notice it even if it's a well camouflaged critter.
