Backpack for CTX 3030
« on: June 29, 2014, 18:35 »
I'd like to buy a backpack for CTX 3030.
Does CTX 3030 fit in to this backpack (http://www.kellycodetectors.com/cart/product_info.php?products_id=3649&osCsid=a2c2fa08a5acc5a4b6a9f7eed98c8b69)?
Thank you!

I just received one of these from lovely lady at Miners Den so I'll let you know as soon as I unpack it .
From a quick glance you will have to take the coil n shaft off but hey I won't know till I give it ago.

Hope this comes up the ctx itself fits in without battery or headphone socket on.
you can leave shaft n coil on if you dont mind it hanging out.
all pulled down the shaft is still a bit long to go fully inside zippers closed.

Thanks for posting stealth, how does it feel on your back?  Any bumping of the coil / shaft against your lower back/behind?

If the shaft is enclosed in the bag it's probably a good thing. I was in Texas USA recently walking from the hotel to a nearby park. I had the CTX in a backpack with the shafts poking out the top. About 15 minutes later I got to the park and had just started detecting when the local sheriff pulled into the carpark. I thought here's trouble. He approached me and I tried to look non-threatening. Stopped detecting and slowly took off my headphones and smiled.
He told me he'd had a report from a motorist that a man wearing a long-sleeved grey T-shirt was walking along the side of the road with a high-powered rifle poking out of his backpack! I looked down at my grey T-shirt and said, "well Sir, I guess that was me." He didn't seem too fazed by it all, just wished me luck and got back in his car and left.
I thought I might get some of those golf club covers to put over the shafts and make it look like I'm on my way for a round. Either that or get a bigger backpack!
Cheers.

No no bumping as I have a towel in there as well & I pull the waist strap up pretty firm so seems to be pretty good feeling on a treck.
I was lucky & got this as a freebie from some very supportive people at Miners Den & totally happy with it n so far good waterproofing as well so keeps everything nice n dry.
Not to sure about heat wise yet as still cool & haven't been in temps higher than 20C yet.
