What do you think?
« on: November 09, 2014, 11:40 »
I have a really good trashy area to search. Do you think a 5 & 3 quarter inch concentric coil would be useful as opposed to the standard coil on my Cibola?
If you think yes, then what are your thoughts on the NEL coils?
Cheers, Notalot

I have no experience with any of those , but a small coil will get amongst the trash when you swing real slowly with a machine that has the ability to recover quickly with discrimination on , one of the Coiltec 6 inch D/D Digger coils for the Xterra 705 has been on my wish list for a while , as there is plenty of trashy sites with potential .

Well, I don't  know  about  the cibola. I use a Compadre with the 8 inch donut on the end. I find it works well in most  areas. I guess because of it's simplicity, I have to rely  on the sound quality of the target. if it is scratchy or breaks up etc, I can be fairly  sure it is junk. in bad areas, I have to turn the descrim. up anyway - to compensate. the general consensus has been that the smaller coils  do a better job in trash type areas. if you could borrow one and try it, that would be ideal. I'm not  sure of the price of one, but I feel sure you will get your moneys worth  from it.

Well, as it's nearly Christmas I've ordered myself the stock 5 3/4 inch concentric  coil to have a play with.
I'll let you know how we go, probably in the new year.
Cheers All,

You will not be disappointed  I have used my young fellas 4 inch and works great. I can get real close to steel fence post and play equipment and sort through trash areas with ease on the Deleon. Also found some good pre decimals amongst large tree roots when the larger coils just will not fit. PLUS super light after swinging a clean sweep. Good luck and enjoy.
