Yes Blueyonder, I have an SJS 600amp jump starter, works very well, has all the usual bits and pieces for charging other devices, torch etc, distributed through Battery World, was on special for $190, Lithium Polymer battery, havn't got large engines myself but it claims to do Diesel's to 4.5l and petrol to7l, mine is 4l V6 and can start it several times over,  www.smartjumpstarters.com.au, I wouldn't have a problem recommending it..............cheers Colin.

Mine is one of the new small units. I always thought they had a special battery but i think it might be a lot of capacitators inside it. Works well on our diesel and charges phones, torch and the usual.
My other jump start is homemade with a car battery about 50 amps. I recently had to start a van that hadn't been turned over for 2 years. The car battery jumper only made the starter solonoid click but the little unit fired it up easily.

I got one of these http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Battery-Jump-Starter-12v-Lithium-Portable-PowerBank-4x4-4WD-NOCO-Boost-THUMPER-/302234725232?hash=item465e97eb70:g:0gYAAOSwHQ9WVvJn
As a test I used it to start a petrol hilux motor that hadn't run for 6 months, battery was flat and fuel about 3 years old, started the motor no probs.
