Howdy,
Took the Excal for a run on the dog beach. The usual bits of iron and sinkers plus $1 , a very crusty penny and what I thought was a 5c until I saw the golden glint on the edge. This Excal does go deep. The penny was a pointer and a half deep.
The bucket list. Gothic Florin - found, Gold ring - found, Trench Art - not found, Sunrise badge - not found, Cricket buckle = not found, Sov or half Sov - not found.

What is it Roger and have you made a unit that will remove some of the stuff covering it?

Certainly unusual.  Looks like it was on a chain and broke off.
Interesting find.
