UK detecting Holiday (Are you up for it?)
« on: August 09, 2017, 19:40 »
If anyone is interested in 10 days detecting in Colchester in the UK next April let me know. I am already booked on this tour and the organiser has just had someone pull out and is looking for a replacement. The cost is $2570 US plus airfare. Trip of a life time and guaranteed to smash your oldest find item by up to 2000 years!

The best English experience is to make friends with a UK detectorist and offer reciprocal arrangements. I know of a couple who gave done this and it saves a helluva lot of money. Not only that, you meet native diggers and are not contained in an Australian bubble. It may cost you a couple of pints or so a day ... but well-worth the money!
Another way is to come over independently and make your own arrangements ...
If you wish to be mollycoddled and somebody holding your hand along the way then that's okay too. But be prepared to pay. Colchester provide a good service, I hear. And, as Hoover says. you are guaranteed to find summat good!
Just an alternative view ...

The price includes transfers to & from the airport. All meals and accommodation. Drop off and pick up each day from up to 500 different fields that are available, & your export licence.
