Cheapest gold detector for use in Victoria
« on: August 14, 2017, 21:49 »
Have a mate looking at getting into gold detecting on occasions and wants to know the best detector for around the $1000 mark. He will be using it in Victoria. My thoughts are the Minelab GPX 4500  is best but a lot dearer than $1000. Anyone got any other ideas.
Regards
John

I wouldn't have thought that the Minelab monster would be much use here in Vic but i have had a few pictures of gold found with it sent to me. Seen some on different PMAV sites as well but i thought that might be advertising from the shop who sell them. Seems to be ok for small gold. I know one shop tried there first unit and sent it back as it wouldn't handle hot ground. Another new Minelab coming out either in a few days or next month.
