Sand Shark straight shaft.
« on: March 02, 2012, 17:02 »
I have just received my straight shaft from Plugger for my S/ Shark & after a couple of configurations it's now nicely balanced and ready to use.

Will test it out next week on some nice low tides.

Question:

What advantage does the straight shaft give you??

I've always been curious this.

I have both versions with the heavy std coil on the sovs and i don't really notice any difference but that might be because i am used to the heavy gold machines.

I haven't tried chest mounting yet Ray as I'm worried about too many loose cables being in the way.
I think I'm a bit too clumsy to try it out.  ::)
As it is very warm in the  water up here I can always wear shorts & t-shirts all year round.  8)

Meggie ...

..looks a great set up...I have tried hip mounting the sand shark,...definately makes it less tiresome to swing, so I'll be interested in the straight shaft/ bent shaft  comparison too

Have you found any nice gold chains with the Sand Shark yet Meggie ?

I don't think I was cut out for water hunting,I had a couple of nasty instances in the waves .. was bowled over a few times & it was a bit scary for me,so decided to sell the Sand Shark.
It was sold to a forum member & I believe it has changed hands a few times,in fact it was sold on again just recently.
I think I'll just stick with my GT,which in fact has found me some decent chains over the years .. remember this one?
